Default Orleans No-Limit Hold\'em: All-In Hand

I just got back from Vegas and I thought I would post this hand that happened during the first level of a $20 No-Limit Hold'em Tournament with unlimited rebuys for $10. You start with $300 and are allowed to do your first buy-in for $10 for another $300. Three players already had done the first rebuy, so I do it while encouraging others to do it.

Anyway, here's one of the first hands I played. I'm on the button with 7hTh and limp in with seven other players. The flop is 5h-8c-9c giving me a straight and backdoor flush draw. Small blind moves in for approximately $600, and to my surprise four other players move in before me, three of them have $600 and one has $300. There's $2700 in the pot, so I call with $600 getting 4.5-to-1 odds.

My primary reason to play this hand is to get a chip lead early, so when the blinds go up after the rebuys are finished I would have the big stack advantage.

All comments welcome.

Good Luck

Mark

With the the rebuys your play is a no brainer.

Myrtle,

My English is bad. I forgot to put the word draw in that sentance.

I wouldn't call it a no-brainer. Your club outs are surely no good. You have 3 outs for a J (which aren't even the nuts) and 3 for a 6. Your opponents must have collective redraws.

However it might be worth taking slightly the worst of it when you can rebuy and you have an edge over the field.

Andy.
