Default What\'s a good thing to do here?

I think this is a pretty big leak in my game...

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: mcpeepants is UTG+1 with 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 fold, mcpeepants raises, 2 folds, CO 3-bets, 3 folds, mcpeepants calls.

Flop: (7.33 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)

Kick yourself for raising 66 UTG+1?

I could be way off, but I would think about check-folding this. You don't include any reads on CO, but I find a 3-bet usually means a pair, AK or maybe AQ. You're way behind far too often to justify putting much more in the pot.

To not raise preflop.

With your move, and I have been there, I rationalize he has AK... and check raise the flop, see what Villian does, if 3 bet call, fold turn unimproved.

You also want to have a read on your man here, many players won't 3 bet with anything but AA, KK...if thats your man, check fold or you could obviously spike running 6's on the turn and river.

To my understanding an open raise with 66 in a 7-handed game isn't a bad play. Is it a mistake to consider this a 7-handed game after UTG folds?

...cries.

I'd check-raise the flop. Bet/fold to a raise from there on in. Or call 3-bet, fold turn UI.

Your post says it's an 8 handed game and I would not raise with 66 in UTG+1 in an 8-handed game unless the entire table was way too tight pre and post flop.

Yeah, I can see that 66 is probably only playable if the table is tight. 77 and up is an easy raise in this spot though, right?
