Reusing wine
Ive recently got interested in expanding my knowledge of wine. My problem is that Mrs. Vulturesrow doesnt really like wine. So if I open a bottle, Im the only one drinking it. What is the best way to preserve an open bottle of wine? Do reds or whites keep better than the other or what?
Thanks. |

or this

Re: Reusing wine
If you're going to be drinking it over the next couple days, you don't need one of those fancy contraptions. Go to a wine store and buy some of the bottle stoppers with the levers that seal them against the bottle. They're like 4 bucks for a package of three. My wife and I drink a lot of wine and these work fine for us.
Reds and whites are best within a day or two after being uncorked. I don't think there's any difference. |

Re: Reusing wine
Just an FYI, you should be drinking 2 glasses of wine or 2 beers a day anyway. Something like 50% reduction of coronary heart disease and also reduces countless other ailments.

Re: Reusing wine
spray blankets work great for reds, blushes and whites will stay essentially the same as when you open them for a week or two jus trefirgereated and popping the cork back in. reds should be consumed or preserved within a day or two. two day old red wines can taste terrible compare to freshly popped
