Default Go ahead, flame me

Stars $30, 2nd hand, 10/20

Hero has A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in SB

UTG limps
UTG+1 limps
All fold to CO
CO limps
Button limps
Hero raises to 140
BB calls 140
UTG+1 calls 140

All fold. Pot is 460.

Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Hero bets 1350 (all-in)
BB folds
UTG+1 calls with, yup, AQ

Why did I do this?

I need a pot sized bet. It's 1/3 of my stack. So, I pushed.

Dumb? And if so, how dumb?

This play isn't very dumb at all. You are really only afraid of AQ, A9, QQ, and 99. You will often be called by any ace and draws. The big picture is that the pot is already large and you hit, so your bet is good. A pot sized bet would also be fine, but its not like any of the players would play it any differently depending on how you bet it.

If you bet the pot, and are raised, you certainly aren't folding I hope?

Well you don't NEED a full pot bet on that board because flush draws and OESDs/double gutshots are not real probable holdings. (given your PF raise and the fact the flush Ace is on board)

Bet $300. If you're raised *maybe* you can lay it down. Personally there's no way I'm not busting here.

No flames. Some players will read the push as a bluff or "protecting" a pair from a weak ace and call.

In general, if you didn't go broke here, you did something wrong. IMO.
