EV estimate for pre-flop descicion

Let's say you are playing in a typical 10-handed game of 3/6 on partypoker. You have the button and all 7 in front of you limp. For discussion purposes assume you know the small blind will complete and the big blind will check.

You look at your cards and see A-2s. How much do you think you are giving up, EV-wise, by folding instead of limping, if you're giving up anything at all?

Well, according to the PokerRoom EV chart (http://www.pokerroom.com/games/evsta....php?players=9) A2s is .06 BB.

However, this is a considerable underestimate of the EV for your situation, because that is the EV for all times you are dealt A2s on the button (regardless of number of callers, number of raises, etc), whereas your situation is ideally profitable for A2s. In addition, that is the EV across ALL PLAYERS, whereas if you play well after the flop you can expect a higher EV.

Thus, you are losing AT LEAST .06 BB, but probably closer to .1 BB and possibly even as many as .2 BB.
