Default Weak tight? Set of 7\'s in the muck on a 4 straight board.

The player who made the river bet is really loose passive. The player who made the river fold is a giant wuss, or was it an obvious laydown?

raise preflop

I call the river. He bet the flop, which makes me think he has a pair, so the river could easily just be 2 pair, or a bluff. If he had an OESD on the flop he still doesnt have the str8. I think you win 1 time in 8.

did I mention you should raise this preflop?

Yeah, definitely raise that PF. I have no idea what I was thinking (I was multitabling). Pretty inexcusable on my part, actually.

raise preflop.

If he is so loose passive, what was he betting into you on the flop with, a pair and a 3? You beat that. Do you think he was betting a pair and a gutshot with a 6? Maybe 66? If so, is loose/passive the correct appellation? Either way, call the river bet, a 6 doesn't jive with the "loose passive" label and you a have top set.

His VPIP is 48, and his AF is .85. This hand was really poorly done on my part, and I'm trying to not see skeletons everywhere. Thanks for the response.

Even if he's got the straight, you've got a lot of outs. Any 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 gives you the a bigger straight, boat, or quads. That's 17 outs.

Its so annoying to me when I go to type a response, and by the time I have it typed and posted, someone has already intervened with a post that says everything mine was intended to say. I feel marginalized and redundant. Good post.

The OCEAN, that's funny. I make the call, I think, but I'm kinda nervous about not closing the action...

Do you raise this pre-flop to try and isolate UTG +1 ?
