Default Anyone know the odds of AA losing 6 times in a row?

I kid you not, I have had AA 7 times in the past 2 days, 1 time I raised the BB 3x and had no callers, the other 6 times there was 1 caller, with 5 of those all-in pre-flop. The winning hands are as follows: QJs, Q9s, QJo, 77, 55, 22.

It's downright ridiculous, 2 of the losses were heads up and directly resulted in a loss of $400. 2 others were on the bubble and prevented another $400, probably even a good shot at winning. Well, what are the odds of losing 6 in a row? It has to be pretty long. Maybe I should just lay AA down from now on, it's just getting ridiculous.

About .00447% give or take a .000001%.

As we speak, KK losed to QJo on the bubble. Board read A-K-J-10-2, not in that order. Sometimes you just really want to break something. The number of beats I have taken is simply unbelievable. Now when I get AA or KK I'm wondering how I'm gonna lose b/c it seems inevitable. I'm sure others have had strings of crap luck like this, how do you deal it with it? Take a half day off or something?

A lot worse than the odds of someone posting about it if it happens. There's a "bad beat ordinance" around here against posting these stories that is strictly enforced...but the Bad Beat D.A. may be kind enough to make an exception and let you off with a warning this time.

Sh-t happens, just have a fat bankroll for the stakes you're playing, keep getting your chips in with the best of it, and it'll all be good in the long run. It's the nature of SNGs, especiallly at the 215 level where your margins are much smaller. The sooner you can learn to cope, the better off you will be, because there will be some painful stretches where it seems the poker gods must truly hate you for sucking out constantly in a prior life or something. Other times, you're hitting everything and it's seems like the money just grows on trees. Of course, it's human nature to have the unlucky events seared in one's consciousness, while the times everything is going one's way it's easy to forget about shortly thereafter (or just assume it should happen that way).

...but seriously, fold AA PF if you're at my table.

Well it isnt 6 in a row, the takedown does count as winning.

I once lost with AA 9 times in a row. That was in a limit ring game though and they mostly weren't heads up. I was actually kind of disappointed not to make it into double figures.

Are you serious??? LOL, that is simply uncanny. I'll keep you posted if I lose with AA for a 7th time in a row, heck let's make it 10 while we're at it.

Hang in there buddy. Your AA stats will turn around with a few hundred thousand more hands.

Happy to say, the streak is over! Believe it or not AA held up against 5-8. LOL, the guy was on tilt and I felt bad, but the monkey is off my back!

Oh and sorry for this post, I will keep the bad beat rules in mind in the future

18.6 * 18.3 * 15.1 * 19.4 * 19.1 * 18.3 = 0.000034851956888916
or 0.0034851956888916 %

5/8 wow. That is worse than a $10 game. Unbeliable people still play that crap at the 215's.

Next time they are beat though here is how I always address that. At least it wasn't 3 hours into an MTT and 30 out of the money! Still sucks in an sng but at least you can just reload.

Laterz
