Default Folding an overpair

PP .5/1, none of my opponents are maniacs.

I have red Kings in the BB

3 limpers (UTG, MP, LP), SB completes, I raise it, all call

Flop: 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players, 5BBs)

I lead, UTG calls, MP RAISES, 2 folds, I re-raise, UTG and MP both call.

Turn: 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] - 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players 9BBs)

I lead again, UTG calls, MP RAISES again, I FOLD...

Routine fold? Anyone play it differently?

This seems like a really bad fold to me. You probably have outs just to stick around to spike a K or 2. I didn't count them up, but you can't be worse than like 8-1 or 9-1 calling one more on the turn.

Even with the 3 flush out there, I'd call this down, and go crazy if a 2, or K hit the river. If he doesn't have the flush, you have all other hands beaten pretty good here.

bad fold since the board paired and gave you boat outs.

Yeah I guess I was getting odds for that, unless UTG 3 bet it which is possible. Once I call this turn though I have to call the river as well don't I?

You had 4 outs to a full house (K or 2), giving you ~9% probability , or pot odds of 10.5, to catch the flush. I count 13.5 BB in the pot. You had the pot odds to call the raise, not to mention decent looking implied odds.

It's unlikely that UTG will raise after you call, considering that he already called once. If he does raise, though, you call it again. What you've already put in the pot is a "sunk cost," so to speak. You do not have to call the river if you miss the K or 2. Fold it if you miss if your read tell you that your opponent has a flush (sure looks like it).

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I really screwed this one up. I very rarely fold overpairs and I'm glad I posted this. I would have missed on the river so the "mistake" probably turned out to save me money this time and being that I can still identify it as a mistake later it works out well.
