Default stud tourney strategy

I am playing in a tourney in November, and it is my first one. I was wondering what strategy changes there are for stud tourneys as opposed to ring games, especially with regard to chasing higher pairs, raising with the second or third best hand to knock players out etc. Any help is greatly appreciated.

In the early rounds when the antes are small, play your normal ring game.

Once the antes get up and almost everyone is effectively short-stacked it becomes very important to steal those antes. Play your high card strongly especially if you have a little something behind it. Bet hard when you hit a good scare card. Finally, when you get really short, often you are committed by 4th or even 3rd street. Don't make any big folds with only a few chips left.

Finally, get lucky :-)

Andy.
