"OK, so 2 months ago I was addicted to playing at pokerstars. I played there for hours there everyday for a month or so. Really pathetic, I know, but I didn't know that online poker was rigged at the time, and I never played poker before and was hoping to learn how to play by playing the playmoney games and the freeroll tournaments. So, anyway, after a couple weeks of playing I noticed that there were many players with the same picture. There were 2 pictures that I remember; one was of a sunrise and the other a pic of some trees. The strange thing was the more I played the more people that were showing up at my tables with these two exact same pictures. It was getting to point that every table I played at there would be someone with one of those pictures. So obviously I became very curious as to why so many had that same picture, so I try asking some of them where they got their pictures. I told them I had seen many people with that same pic, but I got no response, or they would just say, "it's just some pic I found". So I try to get more info, I ask where did you get it, and they would say, "I don't remember. It's just a picture, don't worry about it." I thought maybe it was a group of colluders or something. I made a note to try and avoid any tables where these players were playing. A month later and some 700k play chips later I realized stars was rigged and quit playing there. Over time I had forgotten all about the pictures. About two months later I was going through some folders on my comp. Just bored, and exploring for something to do. This comp was still new and I hadn't gotten the chance to find out what all programs and stuff came preinstalled. So I click 'My Computer' folder and at the top I see a folder called 'Shared Documents'. I never looked in that folder before, so I click it and from there to another folder called 'Shared Pictures'. In that folder is where I find the same two pictures that I had seen so many times on pokerstars. They were sample pics that came preinstalled with Dell Picture Studio. Dozens of people on stars had these same two pictures as their avatars. Strange, don't you think? Strange that so many people would have these same pictures on their hardrives and liked them so much that they chose them to be their avatars. It is not like these pictures were all that interesting. Actually they were quite boring. No, I don't think these people found pictures of trees and the sunrise so interesting that they wanted to show them to everybody on stars. I think that PS scanned my hardrive for pics to give to their bots. What do you think? You think I am crazy? Or are pictures of trees really that interesting?" I laughed so hard I cried. Nick |
