Default implied tilt odds

I believe I read this in the phil gordon book, can't remember offhand though. He mentions a philosphy called implied tilt odds, in which he basically promotes making a terrible call or raise preflop with a junk hand against an opponent that you are relatively sure you can tilt if you hit your hand. I did this last night against a table coach...raised with some real marginal holdings and then beat him with it, when he had a better hand. He ended up spewing chips for about a half hour the whole time berating my play while I kept stacking his chips up in my pile. It is kind of fun. Probably wouldn't have done it except I was already way up and I figured I could take a couple of cards off and see what happened in some short handed pots. Anyone else ever tried this strategy?
