i get KcQd UTG (its 5 handed) and open raise - the blinds decide to play flop is Ac Qc 3h - SB checks, BB bets - i raise - SB folds and the BB calls turn is 9d - check - bet - call river is 4d - check/check is that one of those value bet thingees on the end ? stripsqueez - chickenhawk |

Re: value betting and more
the fact that BB led out instead of check/raising tells me there's a good chance he doesn't have an A. if you know the player to be very very unimaginative (like doesn't know how to check/raise), then I would probably be more inclined to check the river. as it is i think it's close, but i just don't believe BB.

Re: value betting and more
I think that, as usual, you played well. In most instances in which your river bet is called, you'll be beat.

Re: value betting and more
i do it the same. folding the flop is far too weak and just calling sucks.

Re: value betting and more
I think there is room for a value bet there. Average 10/20 player will give more action on flop or turn with an ace, no? He'll definitely call with a worse Q every time, and sometimes with any pair. I think he has one of these more often than an ace.
