Re: 66 flops a set
I do expect this hand to take a bit of abuse. I like to raise with lots of hands, including small pairs, because I tend to take down the pot uncontested on the flop a large amount of the time.

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 6, 6. CO posts a blind of $1. Hero raises to $5 Not standard for me! [/ QUOTE ] Would you raise if you were first in from the button with 66? I have been trying to figure out what UTG standards should be in a short-handed game. How big a pair do you need to raise? Do you play any A? Any suited A? Any good blackjack hand? Personally, I have been trying to follow the advice of always raising when I am first in to the pot -- regardless of position. If the hand is not worth a raise (as first in), its not worth a limp either and I fold (can't always force myself, but I try). If you think 66 is playable UTG in a six-handed game, I think it would be worth a raise. [I agree that the rest of the hand is standard] |

Re: 66 flops a set
I don't like this raise UTG. The CO or button is a different story, but I don't really like playing this hand out of position when I'm likely to see a flop with at least 2 overcards.
