Default $20+2: 99 UTG, 7 handed

Party Poker $20 No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (7 handed)

SB (t2015)
BB (t1190)
Hero (t1000)
MP1 (t1285)
MP2 (t500)
CO (t1205)
Button (t805)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Table is average-to-loose. Is it fold-or-push situation? I min-raised to 200 and then made my opponent (button) fold on A-flop but I don't like my play.

Very good question, for hands 88, 99, 1010 in this position.

Do you think you will be called by any pair? Then push. Do you think you will be called by A rag.... then push. If the table is tight.... I raise to 250 and see what happens. Never fold 99 here though, unless the table is full of maniacs and you think you can get a better spot (this is rare, but I think you know the kind of table Im referring to).

The only thing you have to think about is.... is the table so tight that I will only be called by higher pairs or two overs? You need to have that expectation that you will be called by ace-rag and any pair for it to be a good push.
