Most mis-used technical term on these forums
EV, "and it's not even close."
A bunch of posters use it interchangably with value, which shows a disturbing lack of understanding of the difference between value and expected value. |

Either BB (meaning big blind or big bet) or "pockets". When some one says "pockets" for a pocket pair, it just grinds on me. Any two hole cards are your "pocket" cards, if you have a pair in the hole it's a "POCKET PAIR" not "POCKETS"!

For the ignorant amongst us, what's the difference between Expected Value and Value, before an event occurs?

Re: Most mis-used technical term on these forums
The fact that you put that qualifier "before an event occurs" on there means you already know the difference.
The value of a non-random event is the expected value, but the expected value of a random event is not always the value. |
