seat 2 brings it in, seat 3 calls, seat 4 folds, I raise in seat 5, seat 7 and 8 cold-call, seat 1 folds, seat 2 and 3 call.

It gets checked to me. I don't think seat seven calls my 3rd raise without a pair or a 3-flush. I can't understand his check here. I don't think he would check-raise, as that has never happened in this game as long as I've been around. Even if I make the big $20 fourth street rule bet, I don't figure on losing any callers. I check, figuring seat 7 for better kickers or 2 pair and he surely will call.

7 and 8 check, seat 2 bets $20, seat 3 calls, I fold. Many of my outs are dead, and at least one player has two pair, seat 2 does not bet with less.

you should probably check and fold. your hand is weak, the pot is not that big and your big pair is dead. plus there is a good chance that the paired A's have a pair in the hole. so i think you played it right.


Believe it or not in many 10-20 games especially the weaker ones you should consider just calling on third street. not a standard play but you should occasionally do it. if you were in late position with 4 callers in front of you i would just call much more often.

I think you played just right. You correctly raised the bring in. I'm surprised the pair of aces on board didn't bet the full amount on 4th, your hand isn't good enought to bet in to the aces with your weak kickers. So I like your check along (nobody has ever check raised!?).


Folding on 5th was right, no way do you have the best hand at this point.

not in the hour and a half i had been at the table. the game is the epitome of loose passive.


game was juicy as hell, thats why i sat, i have no idea how to play stud.


of course, the holdem games are just as soft, with rarely a check/raise as well, so i moved when my seat opened.

Where are you playing that these 10-20 games are this soft??

its a secret, but the super soft holdem game i was talking about was $5/$10 not $10/$20, although the $10/$20's are soft as well.

Should be no secrets on this forum. If they are playing $10/20 that soft they probably aren't reading this forum. Never a check raise? Maybe you should play more than an hour and a half and that softness may go away.
