Default Ante size ???????????

I will soon be starting a $.75-1.50 1/2 hold em 1/2 7 stud home game and am trying to decide ante size. The game will be played with .25 and 1.00 chips. I figured the dealer will ante for everyone. For 6 players or less I was thinking the dealer would ante .50. With 7-8 players .75. Does this sound good? This won't apply to hold em because the hold em rounds will played with blinds. Thanks in advance.

Sounds good, but be careful with those stakes, you could really do some damage.

Plan on bumpin them up a little at a time. Just want to get the game well established to ensure it will last many years. Later plan is alternate this game with a small pot-limit hold em game, .25-.25 blinds or so.

If you want to make the ante proportionally the same as it would be in a typical card room game, you should have a $.125 ante and a $.25 force. I'd have the dealer ante $.75 with six players and $1 with eight. Your proposed antes are fine as well.
