Default General Theory questions for SNGs with only one winner

Hey,

Entering an SNG sat for a bigger tourney. They only award first place with seat. What are some adjustments I want to make to my regular SNG/MTT strategy that would normally be +ev but now with only 1 spot become -ev. Thank you.

The most important difference is that survival is much less important in a winner-takes-all format. Since you get nothing for winning anything but first, most of your decisions should be about chipEV. Of course, there are situations were you'll prefer not going into a very marginal +CEV situation for all your chips because you assume you'll get a better chance against certain opponents later (IF there are weaker players than yourself around), but generally, giving up CEV for the sake of survival will be -$EV.
