i sent this pic around my office and three people (2 of them about 50-55, one about 40) HAD NEVER EVEN HEARD OF THE MOVIE

I saw a midnight showing at a theater near Caltech a few years ago. Sean Astin was there to talk a bit before the movie. There must have been 2,000 people in there, and 1,900 of them knew every single line verbatim.

When you think you're the only one who remembers:

1632? Is that a year or something?
No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

and 1800 people scream the lines out in unison, well, you have an idea that you're not the only person who loved the film.

If you don't "get it" you'll probably think it's average to bad. If you do, then it's one of the greatest movies ever made.

Sean Astin's been a part of some great movies.

I'll agree about Plimpton (I figure she's average in that pic with a horrible hairstylist), but Green is pretty good. Then again, I have funny taste.
