Re: Not sure I like this, please criticize
I don't like raising PF in EP with 22. I also really dislike betting out the flop with 3 overcards with 22. The only way I play this hand from EP is limp, and then either set or jet (has that term been used before?) on the flop

Re: Not sure I like this, please criticize
99-22 is a set value hand at L1 and L2. Don't raise at all with these hands, and if you don't find a set or overpair, you check-fold.

Re: Not sure I like this, please criticize
So, what I was "thinking"...
Early on in a tournament, I will spend a few chips on 'advertising' I generally fold 22 in EP, as the repliers to-date have suggested. No argument, this hand is not how I typically play 2's Sadly, the card that sets me up, sets me up. Hoist on my own petard, so to speak. He has a flush, I know he does. So, Man being the animal that rationalizes, I see 10 outs. Never mind that the money doesn't justify calling, I have 10 outs. Or does it? It's 350:1010 plus if I hit, the rest of his chips. Good enough? If you peeked at the river card, you know I hit the boat on the river. Opponent shows Kc 6C. I went on to win this one, but I think it was more luck than skill. Regards Gar |

Re: Not sure I like this, please criticize
What buy in was this? Advertising at low limits usually doesn't help you much. It's unlikely you'll even make it to showdown here to show your bad play to the others and the only thing you're losing is chips. Don't call 500 chips on the turn. Push or fold.

Gar:
I was so convinced you lost this hand, even after concluding the guy "must" have the flush, I went back before reading all of the posts, and guessed he had pocket 9's and played the hand just as bad and "stole" the pot from you. Congrats on the win, but I agree with those who said play the pocket 2's for set or fold value on the flop. |
