How fast is your computer?
I multi-table and recently have noticed that my home computer has some lag when having multiple tables open, I have noticed it more after I have been using 2 monitors with my notebook(which is faster than my home computer). I was wondering what you would(or currently) use as a minimum for a new purchase of computer? Currently I have a Dell Inspiron 600m(pentium M) notebook, that seems to be quick enough even with a monitor pluged into it to make multiple monitors. I have a celeron 2.4 as my home pc but within a few months will probably be purchasing a new one. Any suggestions, or what is more important( I know RAM is very important, but how much do I need to do between 4-8 tables, itunes, radio, pokertracker, etc.
Thanks Tobdog |

Re: How fast is your computer?
I think it would be pretty hard these days to find a retail system that was inadequate for 8 tabling / music / PT. Anything with 1+ Ghz, 256 MB+ of ram should run all that fine.
Dual output video card is probably most important. Investing in a nice mouse, chair, desk, monitors, headphones, etc. will improve your experience more than the latest/greatest hardware. |

Re: How fast is your computer?
I would think monitor size and video card/video RAM support is pretty important if you plan on playing that many tables. I use a 21" Dell crt I bought off lease set at 1600x1200 and it is great for multitabling. Personally with RAM so cheap now I wouldn't think of getting less than 512MB and 64MB of video memory.

Re: How fast is your computer?
I suspect you could run 8 tables on a commador 64.
no upgrade is nessasary for poker. If you want to do other stuff, then upgrade accordinlgy for what ever it is you want to do, but leave multiple poker tables out of the equation* *(this advice applies mainly to party poker) |

Re: Party on Commodore 64
I've been waiting patiently for Party to port to Commodore 64. I will have to email them again and find out what is taking so long. Hopefully my 5700 baud modem can handle the data rate! lol.
