How could I have played this differently?

Three hands into level III, I am in the BB and have played 3 hands so far... Table is LP calling stations. (1st mistake - playing too tight starting hand requirements? I really haven't had so much as a connector so far. I had up to this point limped with a suited Ace in LP, and saw one other flop free in the BB the previous round.)

Flop bet is fine. After two calls though, and a turn K, I'm backing off. That's a bad card. It complete's a straight, makes a lot of better two pair hands, etc. I would have folded at that point, not reraised as you did.

Yup - I think I had an itchy trigger finger on this one. One mistake I seem to make over and over is "I had to blow the webs off my chips to play this hand, surely they noticed that!"

Bottom 2 pair will get you broke in NL if you aren't careful. Very dangerous holding if you get any action on it. You want to win that hand on the flop. And you made a good bet on the flop. Once you got callers, the K hit, and players bet into you, time to re-evaluate.

Hi Code warrior: the 700 bet was strange since (if my math is correct) it was about 2/3 of your chips. To bet that much and not even get to show your cards at the end is a mistake.

Personally I would have folder there -- but if you are going to raise you might as well push. 700 was like being half pregnant.

Code - constantly make the same mistake myself - assume they are paying the slightest bit of attention.

In my opinion/experience you could sit there for the entire tourney playing only 1 hand and maybe, just maybe 1 or 2 at the table would notice (at the lower buyins). Most NEVER look beyond their own hands.

That's what I think too. I can hardly think of anybody in this hand folding a hand that beats you, only because he/she have seen you "playing very tight" up until now. Most people notice only the maniacs, calling stations, etc. Tightness is not very impressive...

So I think, like others have said, that after the calls on the flop, I'm trying to be very careful on the turn, hoping for the cheapest show-down.
