Default Did I play this NL hand correctly?

I was playing .25-.10 no limit on ultimate bet when this hand came up. I am UTG with 10-10 and limp in. A loose/passive player limps behind me followed by serveral players near the botton. The flop comes 963 and I bet the amount of the pot which was about $1.50 and got raised serveral dollars by one of the players near to button. I raised another 5 dollars and was raised back the same amount. I didn't call the last raise and folded. In the showdown opponent showed 66 for a set and won the pot. Should I have raised pre-flop? Or should I keep limping in with mid-sizd pairs?

Sounds like you played the hand fine. You folded when it became

pretty apparent when you were beat. Medium sized pocket pairs go

down quite a bit in value in big bet poker in early position. In

general try to play them cheap and flop a set or release if it

seems like your beat.
