Clemens not starting today...
due to a stomach virus. I assume Backe will be pitching, hopefully. I am MUCH more comfortable having Backe pitch then Hernandez right now. Hopefully this kid will shake off the nerves.

I so hope this is their way of saying "Clemens won't pitch today , but just in case it screws up and the dim fans don't understand, we'll say he's a little ill"

It makes sense for him not to pitch anyway. He's 1-4 with less than the normal amount of rest. If they play S.F. tomorrow, they have him then, or if they win today (which I think they will), they have for game one on Wednesday.
