it's quite simple. 8c 6c adds up to 14. K5 adds up to 15 and 97 adds to 16. With 14 only an 8, 9 or 10 will bust you, whereas with 15 a 7, 8, 9 or 10 will bust you. With 16 any 6 will bust you as well.
