Default Adjusting SD...

I'm pretty embarrassed to have to say this, since I'm an engineering student and have had probability and stochastic models shoved down my throat for going on 3 years, but I just got GTAOT, and I've read the post about changing the units, and I have a question (or 10):

- Looking at PT, I have a SD of 13.8 BB/hr and 16.85 BB/100
- I play 214 hands/hr
- I play 3.35 tables/hr
- assume my winrate is 2 BB/100

Question 1: How do I convert SD in BB/hr to BB/100 given my other stats?

now, first, how do I adjust BB to $? Can I just multiply by 6 (I play 3/6)? I think the answer to this is yes, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Since I want to stick to BruceZ's formulas, and the units he uses, I'll try to get everything in terms of $/hr. So my SD/hr is 13.8*6*sqrt(214) = $83/hr, and my WR is 2*2.14*6 = $26/hr. why is my ratio of SD/hr and WR/hr in terms of $/hr different from it in terms of BB/100? I'm assuming this isn't right.

Also, looking at the book's example of $30/hr and $650/hr, it would appear that my ratio is way too small. Do I need to divide by a factor of sqrt(n) somewhere?

So, plugging it in for $/hr (83 SD and 26 u and an RoR of 1%), I get that I need a bankroll of $610. If I do it in terms of BB/100, I get (for 16.9 SD and 2 u and an RoR of 1%) that I need $1972, which I'm assuming is right.

Also, when I try to cancel out units, I seem to come out with ($^2/hr^2)/($/hr)*(unitless) = ($/hr).

thanks!

I think PT is actually calculating your BB/hr/table, not your BB/hr. (One reason for this is that if you're playing more hands/hr than 100, your SD in BB/hr ought to be higher than BB/100.)

Assuming this is correct, you play 213/3.35=63.88 hands/hr. Your SD per hand is 13.8/sqrt(63.88), and your SD/100 hands is therefore 13.8*sqrt(100)/sqrt(63.88) = 17.3. The difference between this and the 16.86BB/100 figure from PT is likely either roundoff error or me making a mistake

If you're looking for SD in $/hr, since you're playing $6 BB and 3.35 tables/hr, you'd get

SD = 13.8 * 6 * sqrt(3.35) = $151.55/hr.

Your win rate calculation of $26/hr looks good to me.
