Default NYC poker

Hi everyone,

I am wondering about the poker rooms in NYC. Is there dealers , just like every other card room, or is it like rounders, where you have to deal yourself. I am talking about both legal and illegal rooms. Also, how many legal rooms are there in NYC??

Thanks

I believe The Mayfair club was closed down by the city in July 2000. I don't know if there are any more legit clubs around.

WARNING: Stay away from illegal games.

There are no legal cardrooms in NYC (except for home games, which I think are legal as long as the host isn't raking/charging time). In the cardrooms that do exist (i.e. illegally) there are usually dealers like in a casino (and you are expected to tip).
