I am the wrong guy to ask cause I would never play A 10 in that position 10 handed.

check and be done with it on the flop.

bad position to play the hand, not a hand worth raising 3x in that position with....

just trouble.

I guess, my question is what if you want to get this guy heads up as he calls everything? perhaps I am wrong for thinking this is a strong hand to play if you are willing to play it agressively against the right player? Beyond that, I did play it so I guess I would still like to hear feedback on what to do now?

Also, does anyone else find it interesting that the first two responces to this post are from chill(i) & willie?

If you want to get a guy heads-up this early in the game, you want to do it with at least AK, but preferably a pocket pair. If you know he calls everything, why would you try to bluff him with nothing?

You want to bluff the tight players, but bet large with made good hands on calling stations.

Especially after he calls the flop, and you know he calls with anything, he could have a jack or a king or an ace. Suppose he has an ace, you don't know whether he has a stronger kicker than yours.

Don't bet with high card ace until it's short-handed or against a really tight player. Against a loose player this early in the game you only want to bet cards you are 99% positive will win.

Your read on CO is that he's a calling station. Why then would you raise less than half the pot in an attempt to steal on the flop?

I think you should push or check/fold this flop depending on what you think the CO will fold. Will he fold a J? How about a 4? How about a pair of 5's?

In your situation check the turn and call if you're getting the right odds to draw to your straight. Although you should never have to make this decision imo.

Of course, I agree and don't think you should have played this hand at all.

Only my opinion,

Zephyr

Well:

1. I would never try and isolate someone at a 10 seater with A 10 - but you did - so fair enough.

2. It is never a bad play to take a swing at a pot post flop against one other - ALMOST NEVER. So good bet.

3. After that - here - I don't know, I hate it and wouldn't be involved.
