KQo and AJo vs. Lots of Limpers
I've stopped raising these hands these two hands vs. 4+ limpers, especially in the blinds. Good or bad?

Re: KQo and AJo vs. Lots of Limpers
I still raise KQ, but I too stopped raising AJ. I don't know if this makes sense, but I do it anyway.

In the blinds is definately good. But I dont understand why you wouldnt push your edge when you have position.

something I've noticed is that a lot of the time I'd back into an A or J simply by betting. when I don't pop it I'm often check-folding the flop. since I rarely, if ever, play offsuit big cards without raising, I have no clue how to play them.
I'm just experimenting right now. I'm not sold that this is the right play. In the past I'd pretty much autoraise any time it wasnt raised in front of me. |

Re: KQo and AJo vs. Lots of Limpers
Definitely not in the blinds against 4+. Ennh, if they're limping with crap routinely, i still say pop it. If it's a semi-competent table, where it just seem people may have some holdings, I think limping may be ok. But the button...it's so nice.

Re: KQo and AJo vs. Lots of Limpers
It depends on the table and the position of the limpers, but I will usually limp from MP with AJo and lots of limpers but still tend to raise from CO and button. I'll complete/check in the blinds.
KQo is interesting to me because I've pretty much always raised it from everywhere, but now that I think about it, it doesn't seem obvious that it's that much better than AJo. Thoughts on KQo? |

Re: KQo and AJo vs. Lots of Limpers
I don't raise them from the blinds against that many limpers. On the Button, however, it's a different story. I think 4 limpers is cutting it pretty close. I'd definitely raise them with 3 limpers or less.

Re: KQo and AJo vs. Lots of Limpers
I concur...
How often do these hands hold up? My tiny dbase says close to 30% of the time. If that is true you raise 1 sb 100 times it costs you 100 sb. You win an 4 extra sb's 30 times, that's 120 sb. + 20 sb's. Of course I ain't no mathematician so anyone w/ a larger database / better math skills can prolly answer better. just my .02 deke (aka blindchippy) |

Re: KQo and AJo vs. Lots of Limpers
I think it is reasonable. I tend to raise suited hands, and check/call/complete with unsuited hands.
