Default Math question from friend...

How would you compute the odds for the following:

In a randomly shuffled deck, what are the odds that you'll pick out a J of spades, before any K is picked.

Thanks.

1/5. The Jack of spades is 1/4 as likely as any of the 4 kings on any card you select.

The rest of the cards don't matter, so look at it like you have a deck of only those 5 cards - what are the chances the J is first? (1/5)
