Proposition
I psycologist offers the following proposition: He's going to write down a number between 1 and 100 (inclusive) on a piece of paper. You may pick whether the number is less than 50 or greater than 50 and he'll wager his $100 (if you guess correctly) against your $95 dollars (if you guess incorrectly). He claims he knows which way typical people will go, and so has the advantage. Do you take the wager? - Louie |

Re: Further Exploration
Be he a psychologist, elephant trainer or mandolin man, I will not take that wager. For others: what price would you like to receive in order to take that bet? |

Re: Further Exploration
I wouldn't take the bet at any price as long as there's no "or equal to" following either "greater than" or "less than". But maybe I'm unreasonable. Lance |

Re: Proposition - the answer
You cannot take this bet (unless you're feeling charitable), because he's going to write down "50" and you have to pick whether it's a number greater or lesser than 50. natedogg |

Re: Proposition
Well, that didn't take long. Yes, he'll write down "50" and you'll lose. Newsflash: Don't take the other guy's proposition. - Louie |
