Default Partypoker Bad Beat Jackpot

Im not sure if this has been addressed before, but I am curious if playing on bad beat tables is +ev, I know it depends on the size of the jackpot but it would be nice to know if it is in general. Also, if it is not +ev with a small jackpot, what size must the jackpot be to make it a +ev decision to play on badbeat tables?

Default Re: Partypoker Bad Beat Jackpot

Over an infinite number of hands the jackpot is 0 EV. (Actually it would be a very slight -EV when very small due to a good player rarely playing the tiniest suited connectors and thus ending up with the ignorant end of a straight flush less often than an average fish.)

In the short run it's pretty damn hard to figure out when big is big enough. But it doesn't matter, once it's decently big all loose gamblers move to the jackpot tables, so it's probably 0 EV or +EV based on that alone. And since they removed the 0.5/1 and 1/2 tables you'll find more weak/tights than usual at the 2/4 tables as people who like to gamble play over their comfort limit.
