Default Flopped Flush - How do you play this hand?

$50 Party SNG. 7 remaining players. I’m a big short stacked.

Seat 3: (1540) SB $25 completes
Seat 5: (1682) BB $50 checks
Seat 6: (415) folds
Seat 8: (1880) folds
Seat 9: (1898) folds
Seat 1: Me (765) Kh 7h – calls $50
Seat 2: (1820) Calls $50

Seat 3 posts small blind ($25), Seat 5 posts large blind ($50). Having position (one from button), I call with Kh 7h (realizing this is a bit of a loose call). Seat 2 calls, SB completes and BB checks. 4 see flop. Flop comes: 3h 4h Qh. Seat 3 (SB) and Seat 5 check. I check. Seat 2 (button) bets $185. Seat 3 calls $185. Believing I am up against a pair and an Ace of hearts, I push all-in. Understanding many may have folded pre-flop, post-flop does anyone play this hand differently? Thanks.

I would have played the hand the exact same way. When there is already about 600 in the pot, you are practically doubling up. If you just call the 185, you might be letting someone with the Ah to catch a flush. Pushing is absolutely the right call.

Since you are short stacked, I would have bet the pot to make sure the Ace of hearts doesn't get a free card, but thats just personal preference. The way you played it, once the two bets go in no point in slow playing it any more, getting it all in the middle is the right play. If your up against a made Ace high flush, those are the breaks.

I think you played this hand perfectly. Anyone with an Ah that calls your all-in hoping for another heart is gambling big time. And if they call and pull the higher flush and you lose, well, that sux. But you did nothing wrong IMO. I like the check-raise all in here a lot.

Good play, your raise is just about the size of the pot there so I don't see any other way to play it. NH

At this point in the tourney survival is the name of the game, it is not the time to trap. will the amount of chips you have allin is the only play. If the bare A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] wants to come along for the ride then so be it, but atleast you are putting him to a decision. All IMHO
