Default KQ vs KJ question...

Is it a bad beat when I have K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Flop comes J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I bet, get reraised to double, call

6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
check, check
2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
I check, he bets, I call

He has K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Is there any way to read the reraise a little better?

NO that is not a bad beat, it's a bad flop for you is all.

His reraise at face value says he has a strong hand.... % of bluff factored in, he is still likely a very stong hand, which IMHO beats KQ in this scenario, and his reraising you was the indicator, he was tricky there, checked turn to let you maybe catchup and/or make you think he might have been trying to steal the pot and got another bet out of you.

He could have had AK there as well which beat you among others...

Make his queen a 2 and it's a bad beat...

First of all, so you don't get made fun of in the future by the dorks on this board: If you bet on the flop, and then someone puts down more money than you, it's called a "raise." An example of a reraise would be if you put down 2, he raise by putting in 4, and then you reraise by putting in another 4 for a total of 6.
As for your question, judging by his check on the turn after you, you were probably justified in calling the river.
