It seems to me that if the button had hit trip Jacks he might have called the flop and raised on the turn. Button may also have Ax spades and have called with the top pair and then picked up the flush draw on the turn. Once you checked on the river he might have figured that his pair of aces was better than whatever you had.

I would bet the river everytime and call a raise.
