Default poem

i think i promised brad in one of these threads that i would dig up one of my 'daily poems' that i try to write for my 'sig.other'. i send them to her so she can read them in her email everyday at work, which is pretty boring according to her. she loves them. they are pretty silly, but then we have a pretty silly relationship. and we like it that way. so i dug up 2, and i'll post them here. read no further if you hate sappy rhymes...

anna banana

yellow and delicious

sweet and tempting

but lurking pernicious

don't look for the clouds

that mean to bring haze

but look for me

in all your sunny days

at the end of the day

my heart remains true

holding dear

every moment of you

sometimes a rainstorm

makes poetry of prose

sometimes you get an itch

on the end of your nose

don't worry about tomorrow

we all have those times

aren't you glad

that this poem rhymes

and if you can stand it, here's another...

my dear, do you know

how time can age?

now waxing now waning

time, my dear, rages not in a cage

once upon a time

not too long ago

a dreadful winter surrounded me

wherever my heart did go

there was little warmth or mirth

naught could much make me smile

it was cold and dark and numb

and i dwelt there quite a while

but as of late its dwindled to an end

for winter too, can be driven in time

and spring is waking now for me

and with it comes its own new rhyme

new breath has been breathed into my heart,

thanks much to the days we spend

so here's to hoping for eternal spring

and perhaps this road has no end...

vomit if you must, but i said i'd do it...

How can you not love a post that begins "anna banana yellow and delicious"?

Thanks, baggins.

so fucking limited

so limited are we

imprisoned in small ships

bobbing in the sea

set our sales for Sundom

kingdoms of the future past

guided towards the sunset

dreams can never last

she's a silly and light-hearted girl, at least sometimes, and its one of the things i like most about her. its also why i don't feel self-conscious or weird writing lines like that for her. she appreciates them for being silly yet somewhat sincere. and she loves the fact that i write them for her (at least every night i DON'T stay at her house and actually get access to my email...)

this is the latest one, a bit different than the others i have been composing...

unfettered, and unbroken

alone and undisturbed

sitting silently, watching

as the world around me turns slowly,

drifting in waves

ebb and flow

from night to day

sleep to wake

work to play

finding rhythm in the streetlights

and a sonata in the grass

churning out life from life

running, hiding, throwing, climbing

sendin out the vibes on a cool summer's night

relaxing in the breeze

under slihouetted moonlight

enjoying a sip

rocking and swaying

filling up and

chillin out

taking in the birdsong

and street noise

glad to be alive in your arms
