I could have raised on the turn, but it would not have forced MP2 out.

Re-raise the flop and bet out/re-raise the turn.

I would 3-bet the flop, and bet the turn.
I don't really understand your line. The river ace didn't improve your hand. Did you lose to AK? |

3-bet the flop and lead the turn if MP2 just calls.

hence the question, why did you think raising the river was profitable when raising the turn wasn't?

Re-raise the flop and bet out/re-raise the turn. [/ QUOTE ] 3-betting the turn is crossing the line into overaggressive. |

The river doesn't chance anything if you thought you were beat. The bet is fine, the 3-bet is too much.

The river doesn't chance anything if you thought you were beat. The bet is fine, the 3-bet is too much. [/ QUOTE ] I didn't think I was beat. I thought the 3rd. Ace on the river gave me highest hand with a slight probability of his having the last Ace and an even smaller chance of his having the K kicker to my Q. The amount of $$ in the pot made it impossible for me to release the hand and I thought the odds were strongly in my favor. |
