Default ROI?

Here is your local poker noob. I just got into poker, and have been having good results at the $20 at party, but I see all over this forum posts about ROI. Could someone please explain this ROI to me and what it signifies.

Default Re: ROI?

ROI stands for Return On Investment. It is expressed as a percentage of the amount you invested and it is calculated by this simple formula:

(Total winnings - total paid for entries)
[ ----------------------------------------- ][100]
(Total paid for entries)

For example, say you play in one $10+1 SnG and place 3rd. Since the prize for third is $20, your ROI is

(20 - 11)
[ -------- ][100]= [0.8181...][100] ~= 82%
(11)
