Baseball Talk
The LA Dodgers will wrestle the NL pennant from St Louis and then win the WS by a 4 to 3 game margin over the Yankees.
Place your bets now. I hope this lights a fire under all the baseball pundits - Too much politics on this forum. -Zeno |

Re: Baseball Talk
dude, LA isn't even gonna make it out of the first round. FWIW, Oakland has a good sqaud this year and could very easily make it to the WS.

Re: Baseball Talk
FWIW, Oakland has a good squad every year and could very easily have made it to the World Series, if the opening series was best 2 out of 3.
Right now, St. Louis, L.A. and Atlanta look like they could all beat any of the American League representatives. I don't understand how the Yankees are doing it, with that starting pitching. |

Re: Baseball Talk
With the exception of late May, the Dodgers have been consistantly winning all year. They have the 3rd best record in baseball, and if Penny gets healthy and Lima and Perez continue to pitch well they should be fine going into the playoffs.
In addition, they have, arguably, the best defense in baseball. |

Re: Baseball Talk
Season long? Try 2 seasons long... it's been absolutely amazing how quickly Shawn Green has fallen from elite to mediocre. Did you know in '01 and '02 combined he hit .291 with 91 homers and 239 RBI? And that was playing half his games in the same hitter's cemetery he's playing in now. I have no idea what happened. I mean it's not like his stats are better away. In fact, if you look at his 2004 splits they're basically identical. I realize that hitters start declining after they turn 30, but what's happening with Shawn Green is beyond just a typical decline.

Re: Baseball Talk
I'm not so sure about that... what were the contracts/lengths for those two? If they held onto Mondy, woudn't they be free of him by now? I forget the details...
