Tournament question
2 Questions:
1)In a no limit holdem tournament, the blinds are 200-400. UTG has 500 chips and goes all in. What is the rule as to how play proceeds for this point on? Can UTG +1 raise or must he call only the $500, or does he have to call the entire minimum raise of $800. 2) In the same NL tourney with 200-400 blinds, if UTG had 600 or 601 in chips, at least half of the raise, then could UTG +1 reraise him? In other words is there a minimum amount that UTG must put in the pot in order for the players behind him to be allowed to reraise? |

Re: Tournament question
1) In most cases, UTG+1 can eitehr call $500 or complete the bet to $800. In some cases he can raise to $900.
2) If a player has yet to act, he is always allowed to raise. The time the whole half raise rule comes into effect would be UTG raises to $800 and now UTG+1 reraises all-in to $999 ($199 raise). If another player calls, UTG cannot reraise because he would be essentially reraising himself. |
