Am I getting the right pot and implied odds to call here?
Hello All,
This is the first hand of a Party $30+3 SnG Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t15 (10 handed) converter saw flop|saw showdown MP1 (t800) MP2 (t800) MP3 (t800) CO (t800) Button (t800) Hero (t800) BB (t800) UTG (t800) UTG+1 (t800) UTG+2 (t800) Preflop: Hero is SB with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 calls t15, CO calls t15, Button folds, Hero completes, BB raises to t125, MP3 folds, CO calls t110, Hero folds. Flop: (t280) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets t150, CO folds. Final Pot: t430 Main Pot: t280 (t280), won by BB. Pot 2: t150 (t150), returned to BB. It would have cost me 110 to call into a pot that was 295. Is that enough to call here? What about implied odds, at most I would think I could bust one guy for 675 on top of the current pot I don't like raising TT in early position so I just completed. Is that too weak? I'd like some opinions on all these questions please. regards, woodguy |

Re: Am I getting the right pot and implied odds to call here?
With implied odds, you're getting 945:110 on the call, assuming that you can actually extract an entire stack from one of them if you hit. The chances of having trips on the flop escape me right now, but they're either 11:1 against or 10:1 against. As you can see, a call isn't justified even with a 100% chance of getting paid off. Nice lay down.

I'm confused. You have 2nd nuts, why wouldn't you call?

Because he folded pre-flop to a bet of 1/6 his entire stack on the first hand, no less.

Re: Am I getting the right pot and implied odds to call here?
I folded to the PF bet.
I didn't know I would flop a set at that time, and I didn't think I should call PF. regards, woodguy |

Re: Am I getting the right pot and implied odds to call here?
this is a tough decision. from his perspective there are 3 other players in when it gets to him, so what hands would he raise with here? firsthand of the day with no info it seems to me that it is all in or fold but calling is the worst play.

You almost have to fold unless you want to gamble. I'd fold and wait for a better situation.
