Default Best Year For Golf Ever?

I can't ever remember a time when I've had more fun watching pro golf. Phil battling Enrie at every major, Daly back in the hunt. Enrie threatening the #1 rank...

I'm pretty young and have done most of my golf viewing during the Tiger era, so this new competitiveness has been a joy. I can't wait for the Ryder Cup.

Was there a better year, what happened?

'53 was good. Only the best year a player ever had. Yes Hogan's 3 for 3 in majors was better than Tiger. But not by a lot. And no TV. You had to be a drunk writer to get to see the good stuff.

Watching Tiger's 2000 was better than this year by a wide margin IMO.

Masters this year was great. US Open pretty good. PGA might be really good. This is a nice year, but too much Vijay for me.

The first year I watched significant golf was 1980. Watching Nicklaus in the majors was better than watching ernie and veej.
