Default 9s top kicker in a 6-way pot

2/5 B&M game, level of players about the same as 0.5/1 Party Poker. Maybe even looser pre-flop, regularly 6 to the flop.

I hold A9s in EP, I call pre-flop.

Flop comes 468 rainbow. I check, bet from MP all call, and I all.

Turn comes 9, makes 2 diamonds (I had spades). I check, guy who bet on the flop bets again, 2 or 3 callers to me, I raise, everyone calls, 6 to the river.

River comes a Q, no flush draws out there. Checked around.

I win the showdown, next best hand was a 9, lower kicker. Looking back on the hand, I think I played it poorly at multiple streets. With the way I played up to the river, should I be betting the river? I got scared, thinking there's no way 9s ace kicker could hold up 6 ways there.

I bet out on the turn, but if you know the flop bettor will bet again, I don't mind the checkraise line either. Ni han.
