Default Bicycle Casino No Limit Section Grand Opening

Barbara Galamore wrote the following on RGP so rather than write anew I'll paste it in here:

"Players are invited on Monday, July 26, 2004 to the grand opening and ribbon
cutting ceremony for the Bicycle Casino's new, exclusive no-limit hold-'em
section.

Appetizers - 4 to 6pm

Ribbon cutting ceremony - 6pm

Live action tournament -7pm
(for 100/200 buy-in no-limit games)

Top 5 chip earners will receive a $225.00 buy-in/entry fee for the Legends of
Poker $100,000 guaranteed no-limit hold-'em event on August 14.

7301 Eastern Avenue, Bell Gardens 562-806-4646"

The section is essentially open now with eight new tables, but finishing touches (e.g., the last of ten 42" plasma TVs and wiring for the shuffle machines) are still being put in. The main board for the entire top section will be located in the middle of the section so we should have more help from the floor and chip runners. We have had the $200 game going steady (in addition to several $100 games) and a few days this week we (not me, I was on a fishing trip ) got a $500 minimum buy in game (with $5 and $10 blinds) going.

I work that day and should be at the party/opening until about 6:30 pm or so. If you stop by say hi. I'll also be there tonight (Saturday).

Regards,

Rick

Is this just a special section for the NL games?

Didn't you guys hear. Mason said No-Limit is dead! Or is everyone trying to prove him wrong? Any new comments or predictions on NL Mason?
Rick,
Is the NL section just half of the old top section? or did they steal some other floor space?

The Bike converted the office space that overlooked the Plaza (i.e., top section) to brand new casino floor space with room for eight tables and what will become the main board and podium for the entire Plaza. We needed the space because some nights we were spreading games in the aisles.

Worked tonight and it seems like a comfortable place to play. We still need to get wired up for the PA and stuff but otherwise the section is shaping up.

Regards,

Rick

Loved playing those games in the aisles, played in one there before a tourney in March. Is that going to give a little more room to the 6-12 and 8-16 games in the old section at teh bottom of the stairs(where as I remember I always see you with a rack or so of yellow and some bills stuffed under teh cradled chips everytime I am there?

The green chip games will have about the same amount of room as before. If I have a rack or two of yellow I'm either playing yellow chip limit holdem or hosting the no limit. Part of hosting no limit is selling $100 or $200 rebuys painlessly as possible. If I start a game and am able to feed a few grand of rebuys in the first hour or so you can bet it will be a good game.

I had a blast playing a few long shifts late at night in the aisle. It seemed every time the game looked like it was going to go short or break someone from pai gow would wander by and drop in. Fun place to play.
