I play that the exact same way. With Party's structure, you're pot committed after a preflop raise and pot bet. If he had a nine or QQ, oh well.

this may not be right, but I think I would have gone all in on the flop

i realize this is party poker $10 so your opponent may not be rational. but against any rational player i check the turn and hope to get a free showdown. if he has diamonds he's a horrible player. if he bets out the river then you have a tough decision if you don't know anything about this player. i don't play many sngs at party though.

I don't like it can't see you being ahead, he has a 9 or he folds on the turn surely, but like the other guy says you are pot committed by then so whatever will be will be. Put me down for A9o anyways.

He had Queens for the boat. The more I look at it the more I think I should have checked the turn and gone for the free showdown. The reason I didn't was that I was worried that if I checked the turn he would auto bet the river on a steal and I would lose most of my stack at an early stage of the tournament.

Giving a free card to a possible flush draw would be awful. You may be beat but are pretty much committed, and should go all-in on the turn every time.
