Default Explain Neteller fully to me....

I thought that I had a good grip on what Neteller was and how it worked but after reading some posts I am starting to get confused so I thought I would ask you guys to tell me everything you know about Netteller.

1. What are the costs to sign up if any? I didn't think there were any but I am not sure.

2. Does it cost anything to deposit or withdraw? I have noticed some people talk about service charges.. that's why I ask.

3. is the Neteller ATM card something different from a regular neteller account? or included?

4. Do I have to give out a SSN?

5. What is good and bad about neteller in you guys experiences? Is there a better alternative?

Thanks for any help.

First I'll start off by saying all I have used neteller for is making deposits and withdrawels to card rooms, as well as electronic fund transfers to my bank account(not the insta ones, but the 1-3 day delay ones)
I also had a few brief experiences with the neteller debit card.

1. There are no costs to sign up
2. To deposit or withdraw to and from your bank account using the electronic fund transfer with 1-3 day delay there are no charges. To deposit and withdraw from most of the major poker rooms there are no charges. I have heard rakefree will charge you extra since they have no way of other way of recovering the fee they pay neteller.

3. Once you have a regular neteller account you can ask them to send you a debit atm card. How this works is it is a stored value card. If you never add any value to the card you will never pay any fees on it. There is a small fee to add value to the card as well as to use it at a atm or point of sale. The card can be used at star atms so there are a decent number of them.
4. When I got my account I didn't have to give them my social however soon after that they started requiring them, I'm not sure if they still require one now.

5. I really can't say anything bad about neteller right now since I have never had any negative experiences with them. My EFTs always hit my bank account as available at the start of the second full business day after I ask for the withdrawel, and clear at the end of the second full business day. For sites other than party skins I don't think there are any other reasonable alternatives to get your money in a fast and reliable method. For the party skins the IGM pay is pretty reliable but I can usually get the party to neteller to bank account sequence done faster and they are both free.

Of all the deposit methods neteller is the best by far. Signing up is free. Charges may apply to put money in or out depending on the method you use to do this. If you have the patience, the EFT from your checking account is free I believe.

The atm card is like another withdrawal method, you can withdraw to it and later use it at an atm or even point of sale terminals.

For the SSN, I can't remember but I think the answer is no. The only bad experiences I've had so far is with their website. At times it goes down, but not for too long.

most of the players that get hit by significant fees are outside the US and are getting dinged anywhere from a little to a lot on the neteller-debit card and/or the rate neteller charges to convert the dough into canadian-dollars, brit-sterling or euros.

Neteller does require a SSN I set up my account just 2 weeks ago, but don't worry about security. They take many steps keep each persons records secure. They even went as far as calling my cell phone and verify me because when I called them on my house phone to ask a question and I registered my cell. Neteller is fast and easy

Thanks for the info guys...

Alobar... I googled netteller and the page you gave me didn't come up so that's why I didn't just go straight to the source. But normally I am a "RTFM" guy if you know what I mean.

I'm pretty sure Neteller require your SSN. They're very sharp on security. When I logged on from California, after always logging on from Mass previously, they blocked my account until I'd called them. It annoyed me at the time, but in retrospect I'm glad they have these checks in place. I've not signed up for the Neteller debit card though. There seem to be a lot of fees, including a $5 a month charge if you don't use it in any given month.

Have the card sent, but do not activate it. Keep it for an emergency. If you never activate it or transfer funds to it, the dormant fee will never be applied. I take it on business trips overseas in case anything arises where I need money fast. I have thankfully never needed it, but having the card has given me some peace of mind.

Ditto. I was in the midst of some casino whoring back in June, went on vacation to Montreal (from Minnesota) and suddenly I couldn't login. I got freaked out as I had the largest balance I've ever had in there. The page made it sound "bad", something like it was disabled or something.

I called them and they asked me a bunch of questions to verify it and said that the IP restrictions kicked in. They kept track and knew that I accessed it from MN and now somebody in a foreign country was trying to access it and they automatically locked it.

I too was frustrated at first, but in retrospect I actually like that. It makes me feel better that my money is protected from something like that.
