Default $10 Buy-In - What size ante should we have?

NL Hold'em ring game.

$10 buy-in

What should the antes be I've seen .05/.10 and .15/.30. Is there a way to figure this out (% wise)? Is there a site that lists out a table of buy-ins and antes?

I would go with 0.05/0.10 as that gives a max stack of 100 big blinds which according to the NL guys is a workable number... Paradise uses that blind structure for it's NL games, Party uses 50BB max stack which the doesn't give you enough room to work with before getting pot comitted.

Use 100BB in relation to what the buy-in is a guide.

$10 - 0.05/0.10
$50 - 0.25/0.50
etc.

Check out this discussion on Blind & Stack Sizes, it touches on some of the issues.

When we play NL, we use "play money" values for our chips. We may buy in for $25 and get 1000 in chips (it works out to $.025/1 in chips). With the 1000 chips, we'll use either a 5/10 or 10/25 blind structure. This works out really well and it's a lot more fun to raise 300 than it is to raise $7.50.

You could do the same with your $10 buy-ins (it would be $.010/1 chip).

If you inist on real stakes, .05/.10 would probably be a good blind structure for a $10 game.

we play all the time for whatever the buy in and play a mini tourney.

Start w/ 1,000 in chips and start at $5/$15 double evry 20-30 minutes.

It's all the same as you are all playing for the whole $ anyhow roight?

No we do live/ring game style where you can buy back in once you go bust an unlimited amount of times.

ah, if you're just capping buyin, then 50BB is a good number to be using. When you sit down at a live game, most players buy in with 50-100 bb. if you're playing no limit, you might want to go a bit more.
