44 flops a set on a all spade board.
I'm on the button with 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] at a 6 max table. UTG limps, SB raises, BB calls, UTG calls I call.
Flop 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB bets, BB folds UTG calls, I raise. SB and UTG call. Turn Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG bets, I raise, SB folds, UTG calls. River 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG bets, I raise, UTG calls. I'll edit in results later |

Seems pretty standard.

Re: 44 flops a set on a all spade board.
Would calling the river be ok here without a read on UTG?

Re: 44 flops a set on a all spade board.
Probably.
As I've mentioned many times before- I find players who do the "bet, get raise, but don't 3-bet" move on more than one street are typically holding subpar hands. In terms of my read- I wasn't giving him credit for a baby flush, I actually put him on a good ace or two pair. |

I think I may just call the river, but then I'll hear someone yell "Don't fear the flush!" and maybe raise. But I'll still probably wimp out and call.

Unless I have a read on UTG as weak-tight (he fears the bigger flush) or tricky (waiting until the river to really pop it), I raise. I expect to see an ace here.

Results- UTG shows AA for a weirdly played top set and I lose. Weird case where my agression made him slow down, I assume giving me credit for the flush, and costing me long run.
