BREAKING NEWS: Harrahs to buy Caesars, become world's largest

bigslicknews.com is reporting that WSJ will break the story Wednesday that Harrah's will acquire Caesars Entertainment to form the world's largest gaming company. Caesars owns Bally's, Paris, Flamingo, and many Caesars properties. Whoa!

I wonder if this will have any WSOP ramifications? Could we see WSOP events at Caesars Palace LV? If they're willing to move it to Rio, then why not Caesars?

So pretty soon the majority of Vegas is going to be owned by MGM and Harrah's. This spells bad news for us tourist folk. More competition is always better.

I don't think this will happen for the same reason that MGM was not permitted to purchase Mandalay Bay. - Monopoly.

I understood that MGM made a second bid for the Mandalay Propertys and was told by the LVGC that it would create an anti-trust issue.

No, you're mistaken. There used to be a Park Place Entertainment with ticker symbol PPE. But, these days it's Caesar's Entertainment with ticker symbol CZR.
