every once in awhile with a strong hand i make a ridiculously over-sized raise. the typical 215 player is like, oh wow that's such a bluff i am going to snap him off with my Q7. something to think about, you might be surprised how often it works.

I would have played very similar to you there. If I was to play it differently I would have forgotten about keeping the 3rd guy in and raising the flop bet just a little to make sure the small blind called, and if he called raises he would make up for the 3rd guy not being involved. However, that's just another way I might play it, I wouldn't say I saw any "flaw" in how you tried to maximize the pot.

Jason,

Looking over your hand again, I would say you played it as good as you can possibly play it. The "other option" as to how I said I might have played it I don't think would have been as good as how you played it because as soon as the turn brings the 8 of hearts someone could be drawing for a straight or a flush, or possibly even have a flush, so I really think you played it perfect because someone could have easily hit their straight or flush on the river and paid you off, but just didn't happen that time.

I think its a good time to slowplay.. the river gave you a terrible threating board for the others.. Maybe make your move on the turn with a small raise hoping that one of them pushes to protect the hand they think they have.

I dunno.. Just be happy no one had the 5h.

whoops skimmed it too fast and misread the hand.

I knew you had flopped the boat, but I was thinking it was a fourstr8flush on the board..

My bad sorry.

Thats techincally wrong Jason, if they held 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5x on the flop, they could hit runner runner quads.
